What Is an Empirical Formula Calculator?
An empirical formula gives the simplest whole-number ratio of atoms in a compound. Tips for Accurate Results
- Use precise mass percentages from combustion or elemental analysis for the most reliable ratios.
- Watch for percentages under 100% — the missing amount is often oxygen, calculated by difference.
