What Is a Compaction Passes Required Calculator?

The density you should reach once the calculated number of passes is complete, which will typically land at or slightly above your target because passes are rounded up.

The density gain rate applied in the calculation, so you can double-check it against your test strip data.

A subgrade starts at 88% of maximum dry density and needs to reach a 95% specification, with a test strip showing a vibratory roller gains about 1.5 density points per pass on this soil and lift thickness.

Tips for Compaction Planning
