What Is a Tempo Delay Calculator?

This calculator converts a song's tempo (BPM) into millisecond timing values for every standard musical note division — the exact numbers used to sync delay, echo and reverb pre-delay effects to a track's rhythm.

Producers and mixing engineers use these values constantly: dialing a delay pedal or plugin to a "dotted eighth" or "quarter note" time by ear is hard, but entering the BPM here gives an exact millisecond value instantly.

How to Read Your Results

Quarter Note

The basic beat-length value, calculated directly as 60,000 ÷ BPM. Every other division is scaled from this number.

Dotted & Triplet Values

Dotted notes are 1.5× the straight value; triplets are two-thirds of the straight value. These off-grid timings create the syncopated echo and "bouncing" delay sounds common in many genres.
