This calculator estimates the finished file size of a video or audio export before you render it, using the duration and the video and audio bitrates you plan to export at.

It's useful for checking whether a file will fit a storage limit, upload cap, or email attachment size before spending time on a full export.

How to Read Your Results

Estimated File Size

The total expected size of the finished file, shown in KB, MB or GB depending on scale.

Combined Bitrate

Video and audio bitrate added together — this is the total data rate the export writes to disk every second.


Real-World Example

A 10-minute video at 8 Mbps video and 192 kbps audio (typical for 1080p web video):

Tips for Managing File Size

  • Lower the video bitrate for the biggest reduction in file size — it usually dominates the total.
  • 128-192 kbps is a common sweet spot for spoken-word audio; music typically wants 192-320 kbps.
  • Check platform limits (upload caps, email attachment limits) before exporting at high bitrates.
