Race Tire Pressure & Temperature Calculator

Estimate hot tire pressure from cold pressure and temperature, and reverse-calculate cold pressures for a target hot pressure at each corner.

Formula

Using an ideal-gas planning approximation with absolute pressure: P₂(abs) = P₁(abs) × T₂(abs) ÷ T₁(abs). Gauge pressure is converted using atmospheric pressure before and after the calculation.

How to use it

Enter each corner’s cold gauge pressure, cold tire temperature, and expected stabilized hot temperature. Add the desired hot pressure. The calculator estimates hot pressure and the cold pressure that would theoretically reach your target.

Understanding the result

This is a temperature-compensation model, not a tire-manufacturer setup specification. Real racing tires change volume, carcass shape, moisture content, and heat distribution. Use actual hot-pit data to refine your targets.

Important: Racing setup is vehicle-, tire-, track-, and rules-dependent. Treat calculated values as planning targets, not guaranteed safe settings.
