What Is a Concrete Batch Yield Calculator?
Batch yield is a quality-control check used on ready-mix and field-mixed concrete: it compares the volume of concrete a batch actually produced against the volume the mix design theoretically predicted. This calculator divides actual measured volume by theoretical design volume to give a yield percentage, and flags batches that fall meaningfully outside the normal range.
Yield checks matter because a persistently under-yielding batch plant is quietly wasting material — more batches (and more cost) are needed to fill the same volume of formwork — and it often points to a correctable problem with air content, aggregate moisture, or scale calibration.
How to Read Your Results
Batch Yield
The core result: actual volume produced divided by theoretical design volume, expressed as a percentage. 100% means the batch produced exactly the volume it was designed for.
Deviation from 100%
How far the yield is from perfect, shown as a signed percentage — negative means under-yield, positive means over-yield.
Volume Shortfall / Excess
The same deviation expressed as an actual volume difference in cubic yards, useful for estimating how many extra batches a shortfall will cost on a large pour.
Status
A quick flag: yields more than 2% below 100% are called out as under-yield, more than 2% above as over-yield, and anything in between as within normal range — a common rule-of-thumb threshold in field quality control.
